Fashion: Two and Three Finger Rings

VERAMEAT is Vera Balyura, a teller of winding tales in search of the extraordinary. Born in Ukraine, she recalls woodcarving with her grandfather, horseback riding in Utah & moving to New York to be a high fashion model all before the age of 14. Each design reflects a personal (yet universal) inspiration—from traveling the world, making music, maritime ny sagas, botanical structures of light, futuristic visions of rogue spacemen in beer, and before history. Each piece of VERAMEAT jewelry mirrors a self-sufficient life form with a sculptural presence. Hand-crafted in New York City from such fine materials as ecologically sound recycled silver, copper and pure 14-25k gold, VERAMEAT designs are artfully refined contemporary heirlooms.

VERAMEAT’s collection is characterized by richly articulate surfaces, wearability, and subtle details exacted with precision inherited from her grandmother, a surgeon. VERAMEAT is featured in a special selection of New York stores including Catbird, Plum, Operations, Lori McLean, Madewell, Old Hollywood in addition to the London-based Kabiri and CA based ReForm School and many more. Purchase these pieces below and many more at verameat.com

The most comfy vampire teeth duster! Great for late nights on the prowl! 5.5 to 8 index finger. Like all Verameat's dusters this sweet treat is also great for your pressure points thus making you more relaxed while fierce.

Really comfy two finger ring; helps you feel relaxed by pressing on your pressure point’s between your fingers.

Everybody’s Talkin, written by Fred Neil, inspired this people ring. There’s a hot young dude in a stylish hat, a lady in a beautiful low cut dress with big purse & of coarse the guy who’s just about falling off the deep end.

Very cool and classic three finger ring design. Index finger is sectioned off from next two fingers which can roam together. Verameat can also put your initials into the bar with old typewriter style letters.

Plia Designs for the Fashionable Wired

Blackberry, ipod, Palm we all have one or other these days. And while some of them are the trendiest looking electronics around we still refuse to live without them. Thanks to Jill Partain at Plia Designs we can now hull our gadgets around without looking like we need pocket protectors.

Luxe Hardshell
Does double duty with a wonderful velvet lining. yum.

Bellini Clutch
is an elegant, smart approach.

Kangaroo Case
a fun, flirty classical option.

Jacket Case
is a hand stitched python & snake print. Makes for great ice breaker.

And the best part? All cases arrive packaged in Plia's custom gift box tied with a satin ribbon. Every case except the Luxe Hardshell has its own dustbag. My favorite, the Kangaroo Case or the Bellini Clutch with the jeweled front. Can't decide!

Meet Designer Lauren Monteagudo from Au79

When it comes to jewelry a girl can't have enough. For me I love the thought of a sentimental piece, but with most of my items being off-the wall purchases I confess when I spot something different it usually comes home with me. So when I came across Au79 last week I couldn't help but fall in love.

Once I started reading about Au79 I had to find out who the lovey lady behind this wonderful jewelry line was. Lauren Monteagudo is her name & even better she just happens to be from Miami (so yes I adore Au79 even MORE!) The jewelry line, smart yet stylish, is a representation of its customer, a true opportunist who achieves her own goals and enjoys the finer things in life. This brand can be worn by all women who know the value of themselves and know that nothing but the best is the only option.

So I had to ask my Designer Fill-in-Blanks, this lady was too cool to pass up!

First thing I do when I wake up is, twitter!
My favorite spot in my house is my closet
Growing up my nickname was Monte
My comfort food is sushi
I feel my best when wearing Louboutins ( KL: Who doesn't?)
My biggest splurge is my collection, my cheapest find prada bag on sale for $300
Color I wear the most pink neon!

When I am sick I, drink smoothies
My first job was intern for Tricia Fix
I am originally from Miami, but now live in Miami
I have had my moms Gucci vintage set forever
My closet is a party
Shoes make me smile always.
The last book I read was Twilight, the best book Twilight
Underwear? Hanky Panky

Ideal dinner party guest Rachel Zoe
Birthday (no year required) January 30
Best vacation spot Cove in Atlantis
Shoe size: 8 1/2
Best color combo black and gold
Favorite piece of jewelry AU79 wrap (KL: Of course!)
Sweet or salty? salty
Coffee or tea from Coffee from Starbucks
Biggest fashion icons Rachel Zoe and Kate Moss

“Regardless of your profession, it matters what you stand for,” Monteagudo said. “From the doctor wearing it under her scrubs, to the hot, young PR girl working the red carpet, to the fashionista layering tons of bracelets for dinner and drinks with the girls.”

My inspiration comes from my goals
Summer or winter? Summer
My desk drawer is full of pens
I can’t leave home without my Ray bans
There is always receipts in my purse.

Always risk, Never lose

Au79’s signature symbol is the shovel. The unique shovel charm, available in each collection, represents empowerment and strength. It is a symbol for women who work hard and get their own hands dirty to dig up what they want. Au79 is for the go-getter not the gold-digger.

The symbol is reflected in necklaces, bracelets and rings with the double-finger shovel ring highest in demand.

“She’s not sitting around waiting for things to happen,” Monteagudo said. “She’s out there making them happen.”

The Opportunist Collection features 12 select pieces retailing from $300 to $2000. For more information on Au79 please visit http://www.thegoldshovel.com/ - let them know you read it on RiveMagazine.

Accessories: Inner Message

A few years ago a Korean singer wrote a song about the sunburn mark that he found on his finger after he broke up with his girlfriend and removed a ring he had been wearing for a long time. This is the story that inspired Jungyun Yoon to make ‘Inner message’, a ring with hidden letters on the inside. Inner message is a ring that leaves an impression on the finger. Imagine that your lover giving you a ring that on the surface seems plain, but later when you take the ring off; it says, “Marry me.” Or imagine that even though you take off the ring to clean your hands you are still wearing an impression of the words, ’always’.
